Fossil Crinoids

Crinoids are extraordinarily beautiful members of the phylum Echinodermata. You will know this phylum because this is what brings you starfish, sea urchins, and sand dollars. The crinoids resemble an underwater flower and are commonly called sea lilies. Some even have parts that look and act like roots anchoring them to the ocean floor. The fossilised version of these crinoids result in beautiful beads.
